a separate peace

"In the deep, tacit way in which feeling becomes stronger than thought, I had always felt that the Devon School came into existence the day I entered it, was vibrantly real while I was a student there, and then blinked out like a candle the day I left."

as much as i miss people and places from my past, sometimes it's nice to leave it as is in the crevices of my memory. i thought that my friendships would continue to remind me of all things berkeley, but i'm glad to see that we're sharing new adventures and stumbling along new paths (despite the relentless reduncancy of working life).

mmmmmmmm... those delectable ice chunks!! ah, such simple pleasures. charlie and cassie write to me from time to time but it's so hard to write back in chinese; i'm afraid i'll say something insulting by accident. everyone thought my watch was so cute. and yes, i searched for those dang 3+2 crackers all over the first week i was back. boo, i want some!
