a tossed salad

NBA GONE WILD
this detroit vs. indiana game will go down in history... the brawl anyway. i personally think the punishment was too severe. ron artest should sue that fan's disrespectful butt in the meantime.

MEMORY LANE
a brief trip anyway. on one of my many visits to DFC, i ran into my old mok-sahn-nim!! he's known me since i was a wee little toddler but i left dong shin pres before my college years and wondered if i'd ever see his happy face again (especially after he retired). but to my delight, i walked out of the bathroom stall to see his wife and was glad to hear that he was sitting in the sanctuary. apparently he had been going to DFC since he left our old church. small world =)

MUSICAL ASSOCIATIONS
everyone has them... those songs that instantly remind you of some event in your life. well, alice and i will attest to a few korean hymns that will forever remind us of our unforgettable missions experience. while watching the thanksgiving presentations at dfc, one of the groups sang one of those dear missions songs (joo-nim eul mo-eem oo-riiiiiii) and i was instantly back in china sitting on that wooden pew. *sigh* i miss you alice! i also had a happy reminder of my one time singing with allelu last christmas. i'm always surprised when secular radio stations play songs by christian artists. look out for "when love came down" by point of grace.

BODY WORSHIP
a big =) it was um... beautiful, roy!!! ahahahhaha bravo God's stars!

A DAY WITH MA & PA
with my nocturnal schedule, i've hardly seen my parents at home let alone visit them at work. so today my brief stop turned into 4 hours of hanging out at the gah-geh. going there reminds me how hard they work. i'm a bad daughter! be helpful to your parents, please.

tidbits

THE INCREDIBLES
i hope you've seen it by now. fun for all ages!

MARCHING TO THE BEAT OF HIS OWN DRUM
while walking towards coffee bean the world was momentarily drowned out by the voice of ewan mcgregor singing a rendition of elton john's "your song". when i peered over to take a look at the car blaring the moulin rouge soundtrack i was surprised to find its proud owner to be none other than a middle aged man. no shame.

FASHION FINDS
on another occasion at coffee bean, well on its way to becoming my second home, i looked up from my books and saw a personified prediction of my future wardrobe. could it be? a sign?? .... a nurse in hello kitty scrubs.

WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?
i was studying a few days ago and was shockingly reminded that Thanksgiving is next week. less than a week now, to be exact. !#&$%*#%$ and here i am lolly-daggling along thinking we just started november. finals, app deadlines, and GRE's... AH!

SLEIGH BELLS RING-A-LING?
christmas music already?! that's right, KOST 103.5 has already begun its holiday music month. yet another reminder that this year is quickly coming to a close. oh my.

IN DEBT
boooo. i got my first bill requesting payment for my 4 year acquired debt. alas, the colossal motivator i need to quickly finish grad school.

and now... bizarre unexpected rain. that's los angeles weather for you.

smorgasbord

A HAPPENIN' FRIDAY NIGHT
sharon invited me to watch a screening of sky captain & the world of tomorrow at the fox studio lot. we briefly walked through the lot full of trailers, equipment, and all the makings of a successful production system. for a brief moment, i felt like i was part of the biz. ate a lot, chatted a lot... always a pleasure to meet with sharona.

6 HRS OF HELL
otherwise known as speech class. by hour 4, i'm ready to strangle my teacher. the snow-capped mountains i saw on the way made for a little bit of serenity.

FINAL BOARDING CALL
i guess i missed it cuz they wouldn't let me on my flight. agreed to come back at 5:30am the next day to try again. spent the night relieving some stress at the batting cages instead. 3 bucks = 60 pitches

JET BLUE
i have officially converted from southwest to jet blue. i had such a pleasant flight and although conked out both ways, i was glad to know that i could wake up to watch the food network at 26,000 feet above sea level.

BERKELEY REVISITED
this time for business more than pleasure, although the latter is inevitable. made it in time for church, played with my dear nursery babies, and had a great time catching up with julie, debbie, libby sah-mo-nim, and the rest of the mama pack. i love kcpc nursery (which, to my surprise, now includes the helping hand of sarah han =P) . had a fun ride home with sarah filled with many laughs, then onto some moderately productive hours of studying with hannah (although we spent a good half hour laughing and scaring ourselves to death with that stupid german car commercial). dinner with ivy that convinced me she's as much a freako as kathy and me. watched the guys' softball game and was reminded of the value of being polite. where else would we go but dennys to top off the night? dennis chon is one of the most entertaining ppl ever and looking quite spiffy, might i add, sporting his new beard.

CAMPBELL'S SOUP AT HAND
get it. it's the best contribution to breakfast and food-on-the-go yet.

SG REUNION
well minus a few essential members. my sg cracks me up. you'll never meet a more loving and nurturing bunch. julie's a psycho, sarah's "special", eileen's schizo, and hannah's a study addict. YOU GOTTA LOVE 'EM!

capped off my stay with a short but sweet chat with julie and erin (who i haven't seen in over a year), but sadly couldn't add erinna to that list =( until next time ladies...
.
.
.
and that's a wrap. more studying for me.
