it's a new day
tonight i was reminded of a time in college where everything seemed to make so much more sense. worship was more meaningful, relationships more understanding. i loved without inhibition or insecurity and it made things real. it was a time when my hunger for God wasn't a product of my cynicism or my feeling jaded by the world, but a response to his unfailing love. God had my heart and my sensitivity to him was so high. i said before that i need a "new version" of me, but maybe what i really need is a revised version of the old me... perhaps a mended version of the old me.
What can take a dying man and raise him up to life again
What can heal the wounded soul, what can make us white as snow
What can fill the emptiness, what can mend our brokenness
Brokenness
And it’s still a mystery, and it’s still a mystery
It’s a miracle to me, the power of God
For those who believe
And mighty, awesome, wonderful is the holy cross
Where the Lamb laid down his life to lift us from the Fall
Mighty is the power of the cross
Thank you for the cross

And praise You God of earth and sky, how beautiful is Your unfailing love. And You never change, God, You remain the Holy One. My unfailing love.

What can lead the wayward home, what can melt a heart of stone
What can free the guilty ones, what can save and overcome
Overcome
