yippee, i'm going home! didn't get much sleep and it's going to be a long drive, but the end result is worth it. time for some good 'ol mama's naggin, papa's allowance, and of course, MASSIVE dry cleaning. waves and kisses!

so what's the deal with love handles. just what about them can someone possibly love? is it because when two people are in "love" they can put their arms around each other's waist and have something to grip? if that's the case, i have a whole lot of love to spare.

if you have a weak stomach, i do not suggest taking human sexuality at 9 in the morning, lest you want to blush and be flustered for 3 straight hours 2 times a week. in some ways i feel so degraded and victimized in that class with all the talk of women being sex objects and what not. whatever!


there is one good point taken from my textbook, however:

"Waller and Hill (1951) applied social exchange theory to their principle of least interest: Whoever loves less has more power in the relationship. If you have ever been in a relationship in which you loved the other person more than that person loved you, you can probably recall the relatively powerless feeling that accompanies that situatino. You might have felt that you would be willing to do anything for that person, whereas the other person was unwilling to do what you wanted. You were the one waiting for the phone to ring. Whenever the two of you had different preferences, you were probably the one to give in. As developed by Baumeister and Tice (2001) and applied to sex, the principle of least interest suggests an important gender difference: Men usually want sex more than women do. By the principle of least interest, this gives women a power advantage in negotiating the relationship. Thus, from this perspetive, sex is a female resource: Sex is something that women give to men, and so men must give women other things in return in order for the social exchange to succeed."
